FIRST WRC EXPERIENCES
The 2012 season was to be an important one for Stig Runne’s rallying career. In February, he took part in the Rally Sweden, what was his first rally in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Alongside driver Jim Roger Haugom, they finished second in class.
Later in the year, he partnered with Pontus Tidemand, with whom he competed in the WRC Academy. Together, they achieved three podium finishes from five events. They also drove in three rounds of the Swedish Rally Championship in a ŠKODA FABIA S2000. It was there, in August, that Stig Runne enjoyed the first overall victory of his career, as they took the win at the Västrallyt.

2013 - 2016
The 2013 season was Stig Runne’s first year alongside fellow Norwegian Ole Christian Veiby. They drove a full season in the Norwegian Rally Championship and secured five victories in the junior class.
Stig Runne began the 2014 season with Veiby, claiming two more junior class victories in Norway, but after that he had a spell away from the sport, taking part in just one event in 2015.
In 2016, he was reunited once more with Veiby and together they competed in the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC). They won one JWRC classification at the Rally Finland and took one more podium result, a third place in Poland.
They also began to compete in a ŠKODA FABIA R5 for the first time too, claiming two victories in the Finnish Championship at the Tahko Ralli and Enset Oy Ralli. They also drove their first three rallies in WRC2 in a FABIA R5 at the Rally Sweden, Rally Catalunya and Wales Rally GB, finishing in the top 6 in WRC2 standings at all three.

COOPERATION WITH ŠKODA MOTORSPORT TEAM
In 2017, close ties with ŠKODA Motorsport saw Stig Runne and Veiby driving for the factory-supported ŠKODA MRF team in the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) in a FABIA R5. They drove five events, claiming two victories in Australia and Malaysia as well as three more podium finishes. They ended up second in the final APRC standings. They also claimed their first victory in the Norwegian Rally Championship this season, winning in a FABIA R5 at the Numedalsrally.
And they also claimed their first ever WRC2 victory at the Rally Poland as well as two more podium finishes. The season ended with Stig Runne and Veiby making their debut for the ŠKODA Motorsport team in a FABIA R5 at the Wales Rally GB.
In 2018, Stig Runne has been driving alongside Ole Christian Veiby once again as a member of ŠKODA Motorsport works team in the WRC2 championship.
