The Rallye Šumava Klatovy is the oldest rally in the Czech Republic having been first held in 1964. It takes place in the southwestern part of Bohemia, in the foothills of Šumava, around the town Klatovy. Traditionally, the Rallye Šumava Klatovy has been the opening round of the Czech Rally Championship, but in 2017 it is the second round with action starting this year at the Valašská Rally.

Unperturbed by weather shenanigans, rain on the second leg and a time penalty, Jan Kopecký / Pavel Dresler have driven to a resounding victory in the Rally Šumava Klatovy. However, ŠKODA Stablemates Jan Černý / Petr Černohorský were unlucky when a time penalty caused them to lose second place to Ford driver Václav Pech.
The 2017 Rallye Šumava Klatovy, the second round of the Czech Rally Championship (MČR), takes place this weekend (21st to 22nd April) in and around the town of Klatovy in the south-western part of the Czech Republic.
