Iconic Škoda racing and sports cars, both on static display and in action for both journalists and the public, a lineup of former factory drivers, and even a gathering of Škoda RS enthusiasts. This was all part of the magnificent celebrations marking 125 years of Škoda Motorsport at the Sosnová Autodrome. Take a look.

For an entire week, the Sosnová Autodrome became the venue for spectacular celebrations of 125 years of motorsport at Škoda. At the circuit near Česká Lípa, where the tradition of motorsport in the Czech Republic was born, the Škoda Motorsport department presented its rich history in full detail. And not only statically, but also directly in action.

Fans had the opportunity to admire exceptional racing cars from the Czech manufacturer, ranging from the 1908 Laurin & Klement FC to the current Fabia RS Rally2 competition special. Many of the cars were not only part of the exhibition but also demonstrated their timeless beauty in action on the circuit. “Here’s to the next 125 years to come,” congratulated Škoda Motorsport on the anniversary Škoda Auto Chairman of the Board Klaus Zellmer. Alongside personalities from the carmaker’s management, legendary drivers who achieved success with Škoda cars in the past and continue to do so today also came to celebrate the anniversary with Škoda Motorsport. Fans therefore had the opportunity not only to catch a glimpse of these legends, but also to collect autographs or even briefly speak with the famous drivers who brought Škoda so many achievements over the years.

Among those sharing smiles and demonstrating their skills behind the wheel were Andreas Mikkelsen, the two-time WRC2 champion from 2021 and 2023, Emil Lindholm, the 2022 WRC2 world champion and Jan Kopecký the world champion of WRC2 2018. Legendary names from Škoda Motorsport history were also present in Sosnová, including Pavel Sibera and Václav Blahna, who achieved a remarkable victory in the under-1,300 cc class with the Škoda 130 RS at the 1977 Rallye Monte-Carlo.

This success significantly contributed to the popularity of the RS models, which today transfer racing DNA onto the road. It was precisely the fans of these models who gathered in Sosnová, where they also showcased their diverse line-up of cars on the track. A total of 46 dedicated enthusiasts attended the meeting, arriving not only from the Czech Republic but also from various parts of Europe. On site, they demonstrated their passion for these cars to the fullest, with the entire gathering carried by enthusiastic discussions, unique experiences and friendship. The celebrations also featured real competition in the form of the Škoda Dealer Team Cup 2026 rally sprint event. As a result, fans were also able to watch the leading competitors of the Czech Rally Championship in action.

The 125th anniversary celebrations of Škoda Motorsport in Sosnová therefore offered something for everyone and presented the history of motorsport at the Czech manufacturer in many different forms. However, Sosnová Classic is not the only opportunity and not the only way in which this significant anniversary is being celebrated. The celebrations continue throughout the whole of 2026, and fans still have plenty to look forward to.
