Škoda Motorsport eChallenge is back! The new season starts traditionally in Monte Carlo, but this time on a new platform - the official EA SPORTS WRC game! On the treacherous stages of the Provençal Alps with dry, snowy and icy sections, the players will mainly test their ability to read the grip of the surface and the correct tyre choice.
The Rallye Monte-Carlo is a traditional event that has been running in this form continuously since 1975. All-wheel drive cars have been winning here consistently since 1984, which is not surprising considering the extremely variable conditions here. The Alpine passes often alternate between sections of snow and ice and dry asphalt, which puts extreme demands on the right tyre choice. The Monte is therefore all about experience and the feeling with which the crews can read the grip of the track. It's not for nothing that Ogier and Loebe have won 16 triumphs here. Last year, the new Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 made its World Championship debut here. And it was a great debut! In the hands of Oliver Solberg, the Fabia RS Rally2 was the fastest car in the RC2 class.
Two of the eight stages of our eChallenge in EA SPORTS WRC take place over the famous Col de Turini pass, quite possibly the most famous location in the entire WRC series. And one of the passes will classically take place at night. The Turini stage is something new for gamers, as now that EA SPORTS has officially licensed the WRC game, it's possible to experience this iconic track in its full length. Moreover, Turini is a place to which many of the successes of Škoda Motorsport's history are linked. In the late 1970s, Mr. Zapadlo and Mr. Blahna made turned the Škoda 130 RS into a legend by winning Class 2. Freddy Loix also scored important successes here with the Škoda Fabia S2000, who incidentally competed again at Monte 2022, or Jan Kopecký, Andreas Mikkelsen or Kalle Rovanperä behind the wheel of the extremely successful Škoda Fabia Rally2.
