    WRC Poland: Tidemand increases WRC2 lead, debut win for OC Veiby

    For the eighth time in a row in 2017 a ŠKODA FABIA R5 team won a round of the World Rally Championship. At Rally Poland, current Asia Pacific Rally Championship leaders Ole Christian Veiby / Stig Rune Skjaermœn, driving a Printsport entered ŠKODA FABIA R5, achieved their first win on World Rally Championship level. After already winning four WRC2 events this season ŠKODA Motorsport’s Pontus Tidemand and co-driver Jonas Andersson came second. With a WRC2 championship lead of 50 points they are now in best position to win this year’s title.

    WRC Poland: ŠKODA dominating WRC2

    Two ŠKODA FABIA R5 teams are clearly dominating the WRC2 category at the eighth round of the World Rally Championship in Poland. Asia Pacific Rally Championship leaders Ole Christian Veiby / Stig Rune Skjaermœn, driving a Printsport entered ŠKODA FABIA R5, delivered a faultless and fast ride through the demanding gravel stages of the Masurian Lake District. ŠKODA Motorsport’s Pontus Tidemand and co-driver Jonas Andersson are chasing their stablemates from second, concentrating mainly on avoiding unnecessary risks in order to gain valuable points in their bid for the World Rally Championship title (WRC2). Both ŠKODA teams suffered punctures but were never in danger to lose the double lead in WRC2.

    WRC Poland: Double lead for ŠKODA in WRC2

    The ŠKODA FABIA R5 proved again to be the benchmark in WRC2 category at the eighth round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) in Poland. Norwegian youngster team Ole Christian Veiby / Stig Rune Skjaermœn in the private Printsport ŠKODA FABIA R5 are leading with 5.1 seconds ahead of the factory team Pontus Tidemand / Jonas Andersson. The talented Veiby currently is leading the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) for MRF ŠKODA. With a win at Rallye Poland he could move into second overall of the WRC2 championship standings. Tidemand on the other hand could gain valuable points in his pursuit to win the World Rally Championship (WRC 2) in 2017.
