› At the twelfth round of the FIA World Rally Championship, Toksport WRT could prematurely secure the overall victory in the WRC2 Teams' category
› Toksport WRT crew Nikolay Gryazin/Konstantin Aleksandrov (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) are targeting a WRC2 Challenger win to keep their title hopes alive
› Italians Roberto Daprà and co-driver Luca Guglielmetti (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) will be joining the fight for WRC2 Challenger points
Mladá Boleslav, 15 October 2025 – Only three rallies left in the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), and two important titles are still up for grabs. The Central European Rally (16–19 October 2025) will determine the outcome of the WRC2 Teams' Championship, a category which Škoda Motorsport customer team Toksport WRT is currently leading. Meanwhile, the fight for the WRC2 Challenger crown remains wide open. In the mix: Nikolay Gryazin and co-driver Konstantin Aleksandrov, who are competing with a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 run by Toksport WRT.
The Central European Rally is the only WRC event to visit three countries: Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. One stage, the “Beyond Borders” to be driven twice on Sunday, even crosses from Germany into Austria. Needless to say, there will be no passport control for the crews during the 12.37-kilometre race against the clock.
Drivers and co-drivers competing for the WRC2 Challenger title can collect points across no more than seven rallies. Nikolay Gryazin and navigator Konstantin Aleksandrov are the only candidates in the upper region of the respective overall standings, who can score in all three of the remaining events. This puts their current positions into perspective: Gryazin is in sixth place in the drivers’ standings, Aleksandrov holds fifth among the co-drivers. “I like the character of the tarmac stages of the Central European Rally. But rain, dirt and leaves on the road can make grip quite unpredictable. Anyway, I feel well prepared with my Škoda Fabia RS Rally2,” Nikolay Gryazin looks ahead.
Italians Roberto Daprà and co-driver Luca Guglielmetti are also travelling to the Central European Rally with the aim of collecting WRC2 Challenger points. Competing with a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, Roberto Daprà currently sits in fifth place in the overall standings. Meanwhile, Czech driver Jan Černý is making a welcome return to the Škoda family. His and co-driver Ondřej Krajča’s challenge is not only to deliver a good result: “We also want to impress our fans, especially on the stages that run through our home country,” emphasises Jan Černý.
Nikolay Gryazin and Konstantin Aleksandrov are also playing a vital role in the duel for the WRC2 Teams’ title. Škoda Motorsport customer team Toksport WRT, which fields the Bulgarian-Kyrgyzstan pairing, currently leads the category with a 20-point advantage over PH Sport. The French team has entered Léo Rossel/Guillaume Marcoiret into the Central European Rally. Nikolay Gryazin and Konstantin Aleksandrov's goal is to defend Toksport WRT’s lead against their competitors.
The Central European Rally consists of 18 special stages, covering a total distance of 306.08 kilometres. After starting on Thursday (16 October) at 1:55 pm CEST in the Bavarian town of Passau, the crews will travel to Bad Griesbach, where they will complete the “Golf und Therme” stage twice. Despite the compact format of the rally, the Friday leg features six stages running through all three host countries Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. Saturday brings the longest leg of the rally, with 103.64 competitive kilometres across six stages. Following four more stages on Sunday (19 October), the winner will be celebrated on the podium in Passau at 4:30 pm CEST.
Did you know, that…
…for the third year running, the Central European Rally is the only event in the FIA World Rally Championship to be held in three different countries: Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria?
…the fans will be treated to demo runs by a number of historic rally cars on selected stages under the name of 'Slowly Sideways'?
…the varying grip levels present a significant challenge for the crews, as the tarmac roads are frequently contaminated with dirt and leaves due to drivers cutting corners?
