Drivers competing with Škoda rally cars achieved a series of remarkable successes throughout the 2025 season. The battle for the European championship title remained dramatic until the very last moment, ultimately won by Polish driver Miko Marczyk with the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. Crews excelled not only in the World Rally Championship but also in other continental series and numerous national competitions.

Škoda crews fought intense battles across global rally stages in 2025, earning outstanding results. One of the most dramatic highlights was the fight for the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) title.

It went down to the wire in the final race in Croatia, with three drivers still in contention for the title before the start, two of them driving Fabia RS Rally2 cars. Things didn't look good for the Czech crews at the start of the race, with Italian duo Andrea Mabellini and Virginia Lenzi even dropping out of contention and finishing third in the European championship. However, the Polish duo Miko Marczyk / Szymon Gospodarczyk stepped up their game on Sunday, and their excellent performance earned them the coveted title.

Škoda crews concluded the ERC season with first and third place overall, and additionally finished sixth, eighth, ninth, and tenth. Success followed in other continental championships as well. Hiroki Arai / Hiroki Tachikui claimed the Asia-Pacific title, while regional veteran Nasser Al-Attiyah, alongside co-driver Cándido Carrera, secured yet another Middle East championship – his twentieth overall and second with a Škoda car.

World-class performances

Škoda drivers also delivered strong performances in the FIA World Rally Championship’s WRC2 category. Crews competing with the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 scored 18 podium finishes across the season’s 14 championship rounds, including five victories.

Gus Greensmith and Jonas Andersson triumphed in Kenya and again in the season finale in Saudi Arabia. Roberto Daprà and Luca Guglielmetti topped the podium in Sardinia, Robert Virves and Jakko Viilo won at home in Estonia; Jan Černý with Ondřej Krajča capitalised on their semi-home advantage at the Central European Rally.

Throughout the season, Nikolay Gryazin and Konstantin Aleksandrov delivered consistently strong performance, finishing third in the highly competitive WRC2 standings and securing the WRC2 Challenger titles. Young Estonian duo Robert Virves and Jakko Viilo claimed third place in the Challenger ranking. Toksport WRT earned the WRC2 Teams’ title. The WRC Masters Cup titles for driver and co-driver – awarded to competitors over 50 – went to the Mexican Spanish pairing Miguel Granados and Marc Martí.

Škoda is at home anywhere

Škoda Rally2 cars once again maintained a strong presence in national rally championships. Drivers behind the wheel of Mladá Boleslav’s rally specials captured national titles in a total of 20 countries, along with five additional class or surface titles (including asphalt success in Ireland, gravel titles in France and Italy, and regional championships in Madeira and the Azores). Beyond the Czech championship, Škoda crews have also won in Argentina, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, and many other countries.

Across the 2025 season, Škoda Fabia Rally2 crews took part in an astonishing 4,366 starts across 1,240 rally events. More than a quarter of these resulted in podium finishes (1,154 podiums), including an impressive 442 victories.

Improvements and celebrations worthy of the occasion

The latest special edition was also helped in terms of speed by the 'Packet 25' upgrade package, which the carmaker introduced in March, bringing increased engine performance, new gravel dampers, improved durability features, enhanced cabin ventilation, and several other refinements.

Škoda Motorsport added a different kind of highlight to an already outstanding season by unveiling a facelifted version of the Enyaq RS Race concept in the summer. Featuring design cues aligned with the updated production model and several technical improvements, the Enyaq RS Race demonstrated in real-world conditions that it is not merely an experiment but a fully functional development platform bridging motorsport and production technologies.

The motorsport division also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the launch of the iconic Škoda 130 RS. Despite competing in a lower category, the 130 RS earned points toward the overall World Rally Championship standings and famously secured a double class victory at the 1977 Rallye Monte-Carlo. These achievements – along with the 130th anniversary of the Czech carmaker – were honoured with the unveiling of the Fabia 130 special edition later in the year.

We extend our thanks to all teams and crews for a successful season, to all fans for their outstanding support, and to the entire team for their tireless commitment. We are looking forward to 2026 and believe it will once again be full of dramatic battles in which Škoda crews will compete for top positions. Fans of rallying and the Škoda brand have plenty to look forward to.
