› The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Environmental Accreditation assessed 17 environmental areas through measurement and validation
› The independent audit covered a wide range of areas, from energy use and waste management to purchasing and biodiversity

Mladá Boleslav, 18 March 2026 – As a department of Škoda Auto, Škoda Motorsport has achieved the highest level of FIA Environmental Accreditation. Over recent years, the company has implemented measures to make the development, production and sales processes for rally cars more environmentally friendly. Following a two-month accreditation process conducted in late 2025, the FIA confirmed that Škoda Motorsport meets the programme’s highest accreditation level.

The FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme supports motorsport and mobility stakeholders in improving environmental performance. Accreditation is granted to organisations that meet criteria across 17 environmental areas, assessed against recognised standards such as ISO 14001, with a focus on robust, long-term environmental management. After completing a two-month testing and verification process at the end of 2025, the FIA confirmed that Škoda Motorsport had achieved the highest tier of the three-level accreditation programme. The FIA Environmental Accreditation is valid for two years.

“We are proud to hold the FIA Environmental Accreditation Certificate, which proves that our efforts are worthwhile. Our commitment to the sustainability of our programme is not driven by a desire for recognition. However, this accreditation gives us extra motivation to continue our work in sustainably developing and producing rally cars,” emphasises Michal Hrabánek, head of Škoda Motorsport.

Since 2021, Škoda Motorsport has tested and subsequently used sustainable fuels for rally cars. In cooperation with suppliers, the team has tested and developed sustainable oils and synthetic operating fluids. The synthetic engine oil was introduced on the production line in 2024, becoming the first fill for all Škoda Motorsport vehicles. GREENGUARD Gold-certified eco-foils are used for vehicle liveries. The Škoda Enyaq RS Race project also tests possible future solutions; selected components are made from biocomposite materials developed in collaboration with suppliers, some of which have already been introduced into Fabia RS Rally2 cars.

A research project on recycling 3D-printing waste delivered positive results, returning 70 kilograms of 3D-print waste for further production. Another significant change relates to emissions of volatile organic compounds: a technology change led to a decrease of 18.4 per cent over the past five years, with plans to reduce emissions of these harmful substances further in future.

To shrink the footprint of global shipments, Škoda Motorsport centralised parcel deliveries to customers and replaced plastic packaging and storage materials with more sustainable alternatives. Paper filling has started replacing traditional plastic bubble wrap, while paper adhesive tape and packaging material made partly from recycled paper are now used, along with INKA pallets made of pressed wood shavings. These efforts reduce plastic consumption by 180 kilograms per year.

Another aspect assessed was biodiversity at the site. The Mladá Boleslav site includes extensive green areas with shrubs and trees, some planted by employees. In addition, three beehive colonies with approximately 150,000 bees are kept on the premises.
